Transformer for Tubenit's one tube reverb?
« on: February 11, 2014, 01:44:13 pm »
Trying to find which transformer to use in a one tube reverb. I know the fender units are designed to use a paralleled 12AT7 to drive the transformer, so a single tube would need twice the primary impedance, right? I've looked in the archives and not having much luck finding the information.

Thanks!

Impedance is not critical; the whole idea is a "small" reverb for non-Surf music. And as you say you don't get a choice. Use the part sold for 2*12AT7 duty.

I used Hoffman's reverb trannie and tank.

from ARCHIVES 1st post on the one tube reverb:

Quote
This uses the "Fender" type replacement reverb transformer and tank that Hoffman sells. Same one you'd use for a Princeton Reverb.

With respect, Tubenit

Thanks PRR and Tubenit! I missed that post, will search again tonight (must be user malfunction). I didn't want to make assumptions about the impedance, so I figured it was better to ask :icon_biggrin:

Ah, I see the problem. I used the search function instead if going into the archive area.....d'oh! Lesson learned!

I have a SE OT supposedly pulled from an amp running a 6L6 output tube (5000:8 ?)  would that work?
