Foot switch and hot glue

I built an amp for someone that uses a two switch foot switch.

The stereo plug to the foot switch broke  internally.  So I have gotten  Radio Shack stereo plug.  This plug inserts into the stereo jack on the amp which is isolated from the chassis.

I am wanting to put the new plug on and then fill that plug with hot glue with the hopes that it keeps the wires from moving and will lessen the chance a connection breaks.

Anyone know whether hot glue is OK for something like that.  I am not aware of it being conductive so I am thinking this is a good idea?

The Radio Shack plugs are crap.

Get a good plug.

Hot glue won't help much, and makes repairs difficult.
