Supro 6420 Thunderbolt
« on: February 02, 2015, 10:16:22 am »
I built my last amp am getting long in the tooth 67 now built 2 Supro 6420 and one Fender 5e3
I am making up a CD of the full build of the Supro 6420 Free to all when done I want to pass it on so it can be copied and given to new amp builders
My first built is the [ black ] Speaker Cabinet and head the chassis can come out of the head and put in the cabinet to make a combo amp.
I like the head above the speaker that way you can adjust the sound with out going behind the amp and bending down
As you can see I did the Fender in Green

I am going to build a head cabinet for the top Chassis
my first Supro is Diode power supply the second is a Rectifier tube

Three generations the 1966 amp on the bottom

Long ago and far away I got one of those Supros for free as part of cleaning junk out of somebody's basement. I haven't the slightest idea what happened to it. I remember at the time I didn't much like the sound of it. Ah well.

I'm a BIG valco (supro) fan. Quality built and unique tones compared to Fender. Marshall et al. I really like what you did with that custom Supro head....real nice.

I have become a Supro fan too!

Nice work!

I built myself a thunderbolt last year and am currently building a model 24.  I am calling this one the ORPUS 24. :icon_biggrin:

Would you post your schematic?
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
