I play Lee Oskar Harmonicas because they have replaceable reed plates. When a reed plate goes bad/out of tune it's much cheaper to replace the reed plates than the whole harmonica. So that's what I do, and it's been working for years until lately!!
I ordered one of Musicians Friends D Diatonic replacement reeds off of their e-bay sales. I got it in and was at the point of installing the two new reed plates and noticed the sticker said Db (D flat). So I got on the phone and called them up and told them what happened. They verified my order and questioned me but was then satisfied that I wasn't conning them and agreed to send me a replacement and said just keep the Db.
So in a few days I got the new replacement in----guess what? it's a Db too!!!
So I called them again---same thing, they got a replacement on the way. Told me to keep the Db. I've now got two Db sets of reed plates. I'm beginning to wonder if this will ever be straight??
I play cross harp and you use a D harp to play in A. So with a Db you would have to play in G#(G sharp). I don't play anything in G#. So I think I will just put them on e-bay and sell them. If MF keep sending me Db reeds, I might can make a business out of it!:>)
