Very nice.  I told you that the KT66 and the 335's are made for each other.  Great tone and has a nice grunt to it.  Sounds a LOT like my Super Reverb with KT66.

Great JOB!

Well I guess it's official Ed, I ordered a road case for the KT66 DR which means I'll be keeping it LOL.

So your D10 sound righteous through it or are you planning it as a Guitar amp?

This will be my guitar amp.  My Franklin D10 Steel for now uses a Nashville 400

OK, So I did a country session last night with this amp and right and the end I noticed a big buzz or more like static when I hit a D - 4th sting 12th fret!  I'm like WTHeck...  SOunded great in every other way.  I'm think tube somewhere so it's back to the bench today to see if I can narrow it down.

Got ya, that Peavy Nashville 400 I have used for a outdoor country gig with a Telecaster.  Really nice Solid State amp.

In the amp, you probably just are getting some tube rattling is it is just happening.  Did you try changing your tuning to see if it moves with a frequency change.  Like a half step down does it move to the 4th string 13 fret?

Seeing & hearing for the first time, really nice Mike. I love my single gold 10 but can be a bit dark so two with a bright Fendy seems like a great match there too. Better bass response & more cone area with these rather than if you had your (initial first plan) 12 in there. Thinking happy accident "deluxe" ;)

Sure, there are a lot of nice Solid State amps.  The one I was using, the previous band had Keyboards running through it.  It was a modded SS amp, but I cannot remember what the mod was called.  Some common thing Steel players do to them.

I was not supposed to play, so I did not have my rig there.  I like a lot of the higher end Peavey SS amps and would actually say they may make the best especially in PA amps.  Sure QSC, Crown have great names, but Peavey has been making professional grade SS amps for a long time.

That Nashville 400 has a great snap and is twangy as hell.

That is a fine example of following the chord shapes.  The amp has a definite Fender tone, but the KT66 adds some beef even at the lower volumes.

Ed have you ever opened up any of those like the QSC etc? Cheap as hell POS not worth a quarter of the prices the sell for. They're basically what I call single use meaning not if but when they start breaking down - forget it and just toss them out into the recycling bin.

The only way to stay in the manufacturing business these days is to make something that is expensive and only lasts a few years.

Nice work p2p and great sound from a compact package..  Before you take it to the road--put some spring tube retainers on those expensive KT-66s.    I learned the hard way--they will back out of the Fender clips from the vibration when you play loud....excellent work,  Jim
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench--a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men left to die like dogs.   There is also a negative side.

Sweet! Thanks for posting this! I've been scheming on my next project and I was leaning towards Deluxe (without reverb and vibro) and was wondering what it would be like with kt66s. This helps me out tremendously.

Recorded with my iPhone so she is pretty compressed.  In real life not so...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqt1cY_yjRc&feature=youtu.be

As about 2:30 in this clip was that just the bottles vibrating causing that ringing?? I have a similar issue with an 18w I built. Trying to figure out a solution

Something in the house was rattling.  In the past however when I have had amp rattling around it has usually been a preamp tube...

I have and QSC makes 3 versions, 2 of which are consumer.  A Audio Visual Company I do work for has professional series QSC and it is built well.  They just switched to Crest Audio (Peavey) CKI amps and these things are very nice and well constructed.

Hey Shooter.  I'm just happy I can buy tubes these days and that most are ok when I get them.  I have a number of NOS tubes but to be honest that's a crapshoot rather they will be great or not.  You are right in that it shouldn't be that hard to line em up before they print them.
