Cliff jack question/problem..SOLVED..Bad resistor
« on: October 18, 2016, 04:54:33 pm »
H
This is a 18 watt Marshall clone...Mojotone.

The tremolo input jacks are giving me a problem....Perhaps I am just missing something. Both jacks work normally when I inject a 1000 Hz signal at voltages from 10mv to 100mv. Both jacks work normally when I plug my CD player into either jack. The scope shows the normal attenuation on the lower jack in both cases. Scope is connected to the grid of V3. RJ174 connection.

When I plug in the guitar I get no signal at the lower jack. Upper jack works fine. I have tried three cables on the guitar with no change.

LOL..how is this possible...driving me nuts...lol

Thanks,

Billy

Wire them like this and they will work as advertised...

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Hi Suckley,

That's how I have it wired.

One other issue, does Doug sell a 18 watt turret board and chassis? I am not happy with this Mojotone kit I was given by the client.

I printed out a 18 Watt Clone Layout someone posted here I thought was from Doug dated July 16, 2003 - Gabi Bucataru.

Bottom line, I have 10 of these units to build and want the best circuit and material I can buy.

Thanks,

Billy

He may have been bit by the auto-correct feature some spell-checking has now.  Or just fat-fingered it...

No, but Doug can make a turret board if you provide the layout.  Details are on the turret board page of the Hoffman Amps online store.
