Interested in doing an UberGain from over on AX84. 

I'm looking at the power supply drawing and in the comments it suggest film capacitors for C2, C4, C5, C6

I'd like to make this as compact as possible and utilize a cap can.  I know the debate between electrolytic and film on a power supply is an old one, but since it was mentioned specifically I thought I'd ask.  I don't like deviating from a design and design notes, but the size difference is significant between four 10uF 400+V Film Caps and four 10uF, 450V electrolytics in a cap can. 

Is there something in the design that would really favor the film caps?

As it turns out this is going to be a dedicated polka amp.  Gonna run an accordion through it.  It might see some bagpipe action as well. 

As for my kids disinheriting me?  I could only hope. 

And I was blocked from MySpace a long time ago when I refused to acknowledge the superior sonic capability of Monster speaker cable.
