Less pots
« on: April 20, 2017, 12:13:33 pm »
Hey guys

I've been fiddling with this circuit and crossed my mind to modify it to have less pots.
The pots in question are Stability, Gate, Compressor.
Does the pots have to be replaced with resistors, any of them can be just removed?

Theory is when everyone knows everything but nothing works, practice is when stuff works but nobody knows why !!!

If you like the circuit's performance with the Gate, Comp and Stability controls fully counter-clockwise, you can replace those pots with wire.

The other ones are needed, at least as fixed resistors.

You should have a look at the Escobedo TMK  :icon_biggrin:

But seriously half the fun of a Fuzz Factory is the interaction between the knobs.   If you set some of those controls to more tame spots, you're better off just building a different GE fuzz IMO.

Ideally you'd just set them where you like the sound, measure the pots resistance, and drop in the closest value resistor you have in place.
