no vibrato fender vibroverb
« on: May 12, 2020, 10:41:00 pm »
Hello,
I have come into possession of what I think is a 63ish Fender Vibroverb. It was in rough shape. Recapped the electrolytics. The reverb tank needs help. the reverb works fine with a new tank. The vibrato isn't working. The thing was modded heavily around the vibrato section of the amp. I put it all back to stock. Voltages on the tube are really close to the voltages on the schematic. I had to replace the roach it was in bad shape. I replaced the caps for the tremolo. I have traced this out and it seems fine.

I have a pedal I made for another amp that I used for the vibrato pedal. The tremolo still doesn't work. I replaced the tube with a new 12ax7.

I attached some photos.

TIA,
Steve
Thanks,
Steve

Some before photos so you can get an idea of what I was dealing with.

I have played it and it sounds good. I haven't gotten to turn it up.
Thanks,
Steve

Its come a long way! great restoration.

As far as the trem circuit goes: assuming the wiring is correct etc, some of the blackfaces need a shorting jack in lieu of the proper footswitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6jGHPS-Zhw

If youre not using the original style footswitch who knows if its wired right.

Good luck!

Fixed it. I mistakenly put a .002 cap in place of the .02 cap.

thanks,
Steve
