Wait for the cartoon commercial intro to finish and then hold on to your seat.

I honestly got vertigo watching that and had to quit.

That job and my fear of heights would not be a good match. I find that remarkably crazy.

Wow...me too. I made it about 2:36 into it. It wasn't so bad when I made the video much smaller, but it was his violent head movements that did it for me; obviously they were natural for him. Oh and the fact that he only seemed to clip on his safety rope as an afterthought!

I once roofed a four story house by my self carrying the shingles 80 odd pounds on my shoulder it wasn't real steep but it was crazy on the edges. I did not enjoy that part, I think the highest I've ever been is probably 60-70 feet in an old pine tree...it may even have been higher I could see the ocean from 7 miles inland it was pretty cool

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-K.....

NO WAY could I do THAT! Yeah, the view is stupendous from that height, but there isn't enough security for my tastes. The look downward is enough to make my tummy turn. I'd probably freeze shortly after the elevator ride that thy don't show. (heh, dunno if I'd even handle that.)

I also disagree with the "There's no quick way down" statement, unfortunately unless you're a base jumper with a parachute that quick way down is practically guaranteed fatal, barring any divine intervention.

I used to have a real fear of heights, but I mostly got over it when I became a stage hand by the simple act of working in a lot of cat walks and climbing around in a lot of truss.  I've never done much rigging, mostly because I'm always afraid I would drop a pin from a shackle (which is pretty bad when people are working 100' or so below you!).  By the time St Paul opened up the Xcel Center, which has 200 foot catwalks, I was OK with it.  But that video was still pretty high for me.  Mostly, though, what made my stomach turn a bit was that I kept thinking about the fact those things are designed to sway a bit in the wind, probably as much as 6 feet off center.  The height was a bit spooky, but it would be the swaying that would get to me!!!!!

I did a 200 ft bungee jump once. It was within a mile of the Battersea Power Station (made famous on the Pink Floyd - Animals LP cover), but the whole point was to jump. I can't imagine ever getting used to that feeling.

for me it depends a lot on what kind of safety there is. most lighting bridges in theatre's have nice guardrails. i prefer a lighting bridge of 100 foot over climbing a truss or standing in a swaying Genie lift on stage at 35 foot.

in this case i would stop where the lift stops. and if i did have the guts to go higher i want a safety chute, don't care about a safety line :p

The Genie doesn't really bother me until I'm 30+ feet in the air, getting pushed around on a raked stage!!!!!

They are there to collect electrical charges in small amounts & dissipate them before they can build to create a lightening strike.

I have a friend who owns a tower construction/service company, and another friend that works for him as his site manager.....they say these guys who do the climbing are like modern day cowboys.....tough as nails & rough around the edges, but real professionals who take pride in what they do.
