Peavey Delta Blues Cap
« on: December 15, 2010, 06:09:36 pm »
I have a Delta Blues that had some liquid spilled on the board. There is a 0.47 electrolytic cap that has exploded on the end to the board. This cap is also part of a U1B chip. I dont know if the chip is any good just yet. Question:

Do i have to use an electrolytic cap here or can i use a small 0.47 Xicon cap in it's place?

Examine the circuit.You can use a non-polarized cap in it's place.But are you sure that's a .47uf cap and not a 47uf?

Sure looks like a 470n value.
Man, I hate working on those folded PC board Peaveys... Gentle, very gentle.

Yeah i know. Actually im used to working on them by now. And the Blues Junior

I have it finished and working fine

Some one spilled some liquid on the amp and some how it got through the faceplate pot mounting and it blew the choke screen resistor and a few other small caps

Next an old GT Soul O' 45 groove tubes amp. Then a 1931 PHILCO 37-9 furniture size radio. War Of The Worlds all over again
