 Cathode bypass cap question
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can i use a non-polarized electrolytic cap for a cathode bypass on a preamp tube? I thought i read somewhere that it didnt matter. Just checking. (getting old cant remember squat anymore). Thanks much.

The only reason a polarized cap is used is because it is the cheapest and smallest cap for large bypass values. You can use whatever you want.

 Yes and furthermore...

...the .68uF cap frequently found on Marshall cathodes is just a regular film cap--not electrolytic, not polarized.
