all compactron - it's like a deluxe reverb - kinda... sorta... well it's pretty conventional, as far as guitar amp topologies go it's very fenderish w/ a smattering more gain. if elroy jetson had geetar amp, i imagine it would be made w/ compactrons...
:glasses9:
do y'all think the reverb driver is biased well enough to work? assume the reverb tranny is a stock fender 20K:8. can it be improved? winging it here.
the layout also concerns me - from experimentation experience in the past, building the reverb driver and recovery stages with elements within the same envelope have led to serious oscillation problems - here it's split between two envelopes. is my thinking here out of line? suggestions?
the power supply voltages are approximated based entirely on sim - ya kno, ckt. simulation is like masturbation - done long enough it can seem like the real thing...
the PT is rated at 200VRMS @ 200mA - 6.3VRMS 3A
i cannot find any curves for the PBP section of the 6MF8 - winging it here too - biased based on 10W diiss. / PBP @ 300V. they seem a lot like the 6JB5s i fooled with a while back - only less plate diss. and not unlike a 6V6GT w/ a deeper bias. PBP of 6MF8 is rated @ 12W in vert. amp service - do you guys think it'll push to 14W or so w/ audio use?
i love compactrons - i'm in the process (awaiting parts) of rewiring the glo-champ to use a 6K11 - i want more squeal out of it.
comments, thoughts, hysterical laughter, praise, & insults - all welcome...

EDIT: whoops! that's not gonna work - bridge recto in schema wired
wrong!
