I am building a 5E3 deluxe for a player who wants more power than the standard setup so I am making changes to the circuit and putting 6L6's in instead of 6V6s and shooting for around 25-30 watts. I already have a P12Q speaker and have made changes to the appropriate resistors but I need a 30 or 35 watt OT with an 8 ohm secondary (or multiple secondary would be fine). Anyone have a suggestion for a trannie that will fit well on the Weber chassis. Doug, if you have one, I need to place an order with you for some other stuff anyway.

Barry-
I built a 5E3 with 6L6's.
I used a Fender # 047269.
According to the Angela site, it is rated for 20-35 watts.
It has a 4 & 8 ohm tap.
It's 3" X 2.75" X 2.5" tall, mounting centers between the two mounting holes is 3.625".
I don't know if it will fit on the Weber chassis.
I do know the amp sounded really good, with the same speaker you're using & a Hammond 270FX transformer.
For more wattage, you would probably want to use a higher primary voltage than that (275-0-275).
Doug's Bassmaster output transformer might be another choice.

Ed,
thanks for the reply. It looks like Angela no longer stocks the OT but Bruce at mission amps says he has some. His suggestion is to use the 8ohm tap for 6L6's and the 4ohm tap for 6V6's. I will probably put in a toggle to make it a dual use amp.

Yeah, I think that's the same one.
I used the 8 ohm for both 6L6 & 6V6, but his way sounds better.
Angela does still carry them, but you have to look under guitar amp parts, then Fender transformers.
Of course, that doesn't mean they have them in stock.

Ed,
I checked the angela site and they have them on sale for $29. Thanks for the tip.
