Traynor Classic 80 - YCV80.

It does not switch from dirty to clean. All you get is dirty in either channel when switched. All the other stuff works including the boost function. My suspicion is that Relay k1 is not switching.
My problem is how the heck do you trouble shoot this thing!? Take a look....

Don't know about your current problem , but while you've got the chassis out , check the wattage rating on the screen resistors. A while back I worked on a YCV20 with burned , factory - installed 1/4 watt screen resistors.

You need a schematic to do any trouble shooting.They are available on the Traynor site under 'support'. You need to deterine if the amp stays in the dirt mode with the footswitch plugged in only.If so,that narrows it down to the footswitch.
  Then you need to make sure it's actually in the dirty channel by seeing if the controls operate on that channel only. i.e. do the clean channel controls function?
  If you can confirm this,then we move on to the relay power supply and the relays.You need to find the + and - power supply for the relays and determine if they receive both voltage signals.I have never seen a Traynor with a stuck relay so it may be something else entirely.
  Did you just buy this amp or just working on it? If you are not familiar with the way it works you may be running up the wrong tree.

I have the schematic and have referred to it.
I am familiar with the workings of this amp and the channel does not change with or without the footswitch.
I can hear the relay's clicking when I use the boost function but I don't here any relay noise when I switch channels (from panel or footswitch).
The controls work on the dirty channel only, regardless what channel is selected.

This is where I am stuck... I need to figure out how to remove the PC boards from the amp and be able to trouble shoot too. Notice the arrangement? Then I can begin troubleshooting the problem.

It's pretty straight forward to remove the boards.Remove the control knobs and the screws that hold them to the chassis and then any bolts on the PC boards themselves and then lift them out.

I don't know if I would call it "straight forward". It's pretty tight in there.
I'll get to this later.
One more piece of info, the LED's do change with the switching of channels.
