Voice of Music Console 801...would it make a "Good" stereo?

It looks in fairly good shape.  Like two mono amps .  Record player works but not useful with the 100 pound arm.  The radio works. 

Could I take the compnents out and make a more compact stereo for say a marantz record player and my dvdplayer/for concerts.  Also use this with Klipsch Heresy. 

Would it take a lot of fenangaling?  Would it be a worthy/goodt amp?  I can change a couple of caps but I'm not super slick.

Might be a fun project- you will have to fit the turntable with either a chrystal cartridge or get a magnetic preamp with built in RIAA EQ.

So.  I can't just plug my Marantz turntable into this?  How about my DVD player?  How does the radio run into the power section?  How about three inputs on that?

Your Marantz TT probably has a magnetic cartridge which puts out about 5 mv most ceramic cartridges put out somewhere in the range of 20-50 mv and the equalization is different. Any line level source will work perfectly cassette, 8-track, DVD, CD MP3... not sure about the layout of your outfit. A picture or three would help.
