power tube coupling caps
« on: September 23, 2011, 03:06:38 pm »
Afternoon everyone,
I have seen fender and sunn use 0.1 coupling caps before the power tubes, ampeg use 0.33 and 0.02 in there b25 and b15 amps.
What difference in sound would these make and which is best for a bass amp?
Thanks,
Ernie

Larger cap => mo' extended low end. But it all depends on the source Z and loading.

You may play with the online calculator devised by Richard Kuehnel :
