Hand Carved Wood Trumpet
« on: October 17, 2011, 11:18:48 am »
This guy's work is amazing:
How a trumpet is made wooden

This version of Amazing Grace may not be your favorite, but the darned thing plays - spruce springs and all!
Amazing Grace being played on my wooden trumpet

A wood-working friend of mine introduced me to this.  Just thought you all might like it too.

Cheers,

Chip

We have proven once again no plan survives contact with the enemy, or in this case, with the amp.

It always amazes me how a man can manufacture just about anything he puts his mind to.

I just wonder, all that spit, how does this affect the wood? or the glue??
My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention (H. Lamarr)

Oh, it just gives it a wetter, slightly compressed tone  :l2:

Sounds slightly better than a kazoo to me.   :icon_biggrin:

Nice wood working, I admire the craftmanship, but it's still a trumpet!
