Looking to the Hammond 1760J Upgrade datasheet I've seen it is a 4,000ohm 4/8/16ohm 35W Output Transformer (they say for Fender Pro-Reverb, Tremolux, Vibrolux)

https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.hammondmfg.com/pdf/EDB1760J.pdf&embedded=true&chrome=true

as far I can know a 4,000ohm is the right OT for 4 x el84 tubes

no one of the Fender amps they say the transformer is for, uses 4 x el84 tubes

What I'm missing ??, sure something  :w2: :w2: :dontknow: :w2: :w2:

Thanks

It's also a good choice for a 2 x 6L6 amp.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Please can someone explain this:

Hammond 1760J 4000ohm primary 4/8/16ohm secondary - 35W designed for Fender is sold for € 49.31

Hammond 1750V 4000ohm primary 8/16ohm secondary - 30W designed for Vox is sold for € 78.30

does someone knows the reason for this big price difference ?  :dontknow:

and also must consider that the 1760j is rated 35W and has one more output option (the 4 ohm)

as I'm looking for an OT to be used with 4 x el84 tubes do you think that the 1760J is a stupid choise ?
