Since there have been a rash of "How come/Why" type questions here lately, I'm going to ask one. OK all you experts out there, how about a plain and simple explanation for the following PI types, pro's, con's, advantages, disadvantages, how they affect the sound, etc.:

Long Tailed
Isodyne
Cross Coupled
Schmidt
Floating
Cathodyne

This is one of those questions where you hope at least ONE other person in the class is wondering the same thing!
Thanks,
Jim

EDIT: Ken changed the thread title ( was "PI questions" )

If it makes you feel better, I'm wondering also.
I always thought that a driver/transformer inverter should be a good idea. The thread on the PS 400 got me to thinking about that again.

Good call, I forgot about the Transformer Inverter! OK, I don't feel so bad now! Now, if we can just get a few of the brainiac's to share some of their much coveted knowledge....
Thanks,
Jim

Well, it's not out of my brain but out of my notebook...

Here's some of Randall Aiken's info on long tails.

I think I'll slap this thread into the archive. Anybody got anymore cool info before I do?

Ken
