I thought that guy was ok at first and then the pepper almost killed him.
Habanero is about as hot as I want

Been making salsa every week from the Juliet tomatoes
making about 1/2 gallon a week so far

You use habeneros in your salsa? I've been using Jalapenos and Fresnos.I'd like to go hotter but my little lady already bitches about it being to hot.Doesn't stop my teenage boys they go through about a quart a week.

Yes, I like the flavor of Hab's way better than peno's

I have a few bags in the freezer from past years
I grab one or two Habs (depending on the size) and blend them right into the salsa

I make a sauce from about 1/3 the toms and the chunky part from the other 2/3 and then combine the two

The salsa is hot enough for most people the way it is
I can take it much hotter, but it's fine the way it is since I give some away

Wow, 55 degrees last night!  After the 100+ degree weeks, it feels like December here!

My .50cent half dead 'mater plant is now 5 foot tall and FULL of fruit, this thing is a fricken 3ft diameter bush.  It is a Better Boy.  Anyone have any experience with this one?  I will have about 20 off of it by the end of the week with more right behind - wow!

Ok, is there nothing better than the smell of a tomato plant in the summer!  Man, I love that smell!  Brings back lots of memories of being in the garden with my dad...

Yeah, my dad always planted tomatoes too.  

I've had great results from Better Boys, Best Boys too.

Where I live now my side of the street was a bog decades ago that they back filled and the soil is really good! 3' to 4' deep black soil. On the other side of the street my friend Red has sandy/clay for soil. His garden, which he plants every year never does as good.

I didn't plant anything this year, but my tomato plants grow to 6' and are 3' in diameter easy. I have to cut the tops off to try to stop them from getting taller and put their work into the tomatoes. Red showed me how to make cages out of concrete mesh for flat work that comes in a roll. Works great. 

1 year we had so many I was giving them away by the dozen to our neighbors and that was from only 6 plants. I even bought 1 of those kitchen tools that you use to make apple sauce. If you dice up the tomatoes and put them in and turn the handle it separates the seeds/skin from pulp and turns it in to sauce. We made gazpacho with it. Used up a lot of them that way.

It was goooood.

I only grow heirloom tomatoes,They are definatly harder to grow. But I think its worth it to keep the strains from my granparents and their parents going plus I think the taste better.

Very cool. I tried a couple of times and I didn't do to well with them.     

I'd be willing to try again though.
