HELP - 18 Watt Superlite Variant
« on: May 03, 2012, 12:42:29 pm »
Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a little assistance with something I'd like to try. I'm looking to try out an 18watt superlight style build using a 6V6 output stage and a james/baxandall tone stack. I have only been able to find info on 6V6 conversions for the liteiib but I think I have things in order for this experiment. What I'm looking for is for those of you more experienced tweakers to let me know if I have made any major mistakes with my design. The schematic is attached for anyone to review.

What Im wonder about specifically is the power supply section and the second gain stage which drive the tone stack. I have seen three different approaches to the tone stack driving stage and would like to know what would work best. The three examples were normal plate driven, voltage divider for the plate resistors driving the tone stack and a design using a mosfet follower to drive the tone stack. I'd like to know if what I have now will work or if things should be adjusted.

I look forward to any assistance anyone can provide.

Cheers,

Neill

Looks doable to me, but you need to rotate the bridge 90° CW.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
