« on: June 13, 2012, 06:56:13 pm »
Here are 3 most recent songs.  Used some of my home brew amps: pexi 50 with hot switch, 5e3 and ampeg B15

Constructive criticism will be appreciated.  :dontknow:

Very well recorded.  Good job.

Mixingwise, I'd bring the cymbals way down.  Kick up.  Rhythm guitar and bass up a bit.  Vocals should come down, too--so they sit in the mix rather than sitting on top of it.  Try adding some high mids (1k-2k) and maybe scooping some low mids (200-600) from the lead guitar.  Try scooping some low mids from the vocal.  If you have a bottom mic on the snare maybe bring that up a hair, so you get more snap and less thud.  Vocals could maybe benefit from a little reverb.  Just to put them in some kind of acoustic space.   It's mostly for the parts where it gets loud and is kind of out on its own.  Piano on the third song sounds pretty artificial.  If that's a midi track, you could try to find a more realistic sounding virtual instrument.  Or just run it through some, umm, stuff, to mess it up a bit.  I've been known to mic a speaker to give some realism to virtual instruments.

Over all sounds great.  Good work.

Chris

I don't know shit about mixing but I like your songs.I would agree with spacelab about the vocals being a little to much.
We are all criminals here.
