Princeton Reverb Output Transformer
« on: November 08, 2012, 02:29:10 pm »
I have seen three websites advertising the Princeton Reverb output transformer with 3 different specs.
One site says 6K impedance and the others says 8K and 8.5K impedance. What is the original spec?

One of my "bibles" -- Dave Funk's Tube Amp Workbook -- shows all Princetons from 6G2 through PR's AA1164 & B1270 used the same OT #125A10B @ 8 ohms.

I'm "was" pretty sure the originals were 8K, but the Mojo's and Classictone tranny's are 8.5k, so I'm not sure sure now..  :dontknow:.

PR's were 8k. Deluxe Reverbs were 6.6k.  I've used Deluxe OT's in PR builds and they sound great.

I don't know what is the original but you can use any transformer from 6k to 8.5

Hammond Transformer sugest a 8K for this amp.. IMO hammond built transformer since Leo Fender made amps , so the specs could be same.
