Output transformer purchase
« on: November 25, 2012, 09:14:19 am »
Hello

I'm getting a parts list together for a amp project and was wondering if the output transformers sold on this website are USA made?

Thanks

Not sure, but I have used a few of them.  The hook-up wires suggest US made as they are slightly larger than the weber transformers I have seen.  I really like Doug's position on them.  Buy them if you want, but they are not returnable.  He is confident in them and I have never heard anyone say anything negative except I did read where someone on another forum said they were noisy.  I have never experienced this as any build can have noise.  It is up to you to get rid of it.

I have used Magnetic Components transformers for several projects and do recommend those. They don't sell direct from their factory in Chicago, but they sell through a couple on-line outlets, triodestore.com is one of them.
