Mother Of Dragons

I have to say this was one of the most challenging things I've ever done, mostly because of doubling the vocal line with all its microtonal riffage. There's no editing on the guitar part there and no tweaking with plugins, I just had to learn the melody and play it. The harmonics solo wasn't as easy as I would have liked even though it doesn't sound especially flashy, either. I'm pleased with this tune.

I used my 94 Strat Special, my Warmoth Tele, and my Rondo SX Les Paul Jr. on this, and the only amp I used was my 18 Watt II with the extra gain stage. I switched from that one for a while but I'm back to it again; it's just a sweet sounding amp. So glad I put that extra gain stage in it!

Cheers!

Really GREAT!....sitting at my desk on a dreary morning, that really took me somewhere....
I could see being able to write a movie scene based off of that tune........
Just love the volume swells and dynamic changes in the keyboards and guitar track,,,and of course I loved the harmonic solo

Your production skills are spot on,,,,,and unfortunately it makes the amp demo clips that I have been trying to record sound like a 5 year old throwing a strat down a flight of stairs.......so I will apologize in advance for that

Thanks for taking the time to share your stuff with us,,,,it's great to find inspiration everywhere I look on this forum

Thanks. Hearing feedback (pun intended) makes it worthwhile, LOL. As for the technical stuff, it's just like playing - it takes practice. But the most important thing (I think, anyway) is the notes you play.

Yeah, I used to TRY a little personal recording, and it got to feel like "who am I doing this for?"......way before I discovered this forum, which is a really cool outlet for this stuff.

Your tasteful playing combined with interesting backing tracks makes for good listening,,,,and I'm just getting back into it after a couple of years off, so thanks for sharing....keep up the good work

Nice work Ty--having done some arranging and multitracking in the more distant past, I know that it is indeed work.

You are killing me silvergun--I can relate to the strat bouncing down the stairway. Or throwing myself down the steps after it.

Thanks for sharing--and you should be more than pleased with the way this one turned out! Regards

T-Caster, that is really inventive and original.  The trem bends are very vocal sounding.  Beautiful tone.  I like your recordings, they are like musical journeys within a few minute entity.  Not sure how else to describe it.  Whatever - it just sounds excellent!
