I am going to be brutally honest here and hope I don't offend anyone but, either that dude is trying to sing that bad or he is that bad.. either way it's painful to listen to. Ian Anderson and YES they are not.  I am assuming they had a short lived career.

Tremendous musicians.  I saw them a couple of times.  I loved them.  Not the most accessible stuff.  Thankfully.  Nice post.

been a GG fan for years, and yeah, the singer has always been a sticking-point with trying to turn friends on to them - his pitch is good, just a really strange tone...
Gary Green's guitar is always cool though, sorta Martin Barre-ish, and always a nice Les Paul Plexi sound.
If you watch enough of them on YT, you'll see them play all kinds of instruments, too - the bass player also plays  viola (or violin, can't tell) /cello/trumpet/recorder/flute/guitar.
