Fender BXR Sixty

Hi Gentlemen

I'm back for a visit with another question I wish I could figure out myself. How do I get into (disassemble) a Fender BXR Sixty bass amp? I have removed 4 screws from the upper area where the head is. Nothing got loose yet. I was hoping the electronics would begin to slide out somehow.

The owner of the amp is having intermittent cut out and noise, as in possible phone jack looseness. I thought I would open her up and see what's going on. So far I can't get in and have put the job off for a long time. Thanks for listening.

I did not know this amp but all Fender need to be pull by the back after you remove the four top screw. Sometimes the chassis is tight between the baffle board and the top of the cab.

I have removed 2 screws with washers from the top, and 2 screws with washers from the upper side. There remains 4 screws for the handle and 4 screws for the metal corners. Do these have to come out too? Also the corners have additional screws on the side.

Not the screw for handle or corner ,

But on the side , yes maybe you have to remove them.

I have removed the crews as described before. The chassis does not budge one bit yet. I am pressing at about 75 pounds pressure.

Should I pry the grill cloth off? It moves a bit but I don't want to wreck it if incorrect.

I don't know what to said , just look take your time and look again.

Often in my job as a electronic tech / repaiman , the most difficult thing is to disassemble , have access to the electronic parts , not repair.

it looks like you can remove the grill (possibly vlecro pads) and pull the chassis out in the front.

If the grill have velcro , this can help if you can remove it. It is the same thing with my Silverface Vibrolux Reverb , I must remove the grill if I want to pull out the chassis . Grill frame is little bit too large IMO to clear the chassis like other Fender I have.
