Pro reverb buzzing
« on: September 09, 2013, 10:45:04 am »
Having buzzing problem and wanted to go over a few things on a 66 Pro reverb. Wanted to change out the input jacks and wondered which jacks to get?  Probably put in new electrolytics, check any messed up solder joints. Any other suggestions? Used to be when you saw some blue spragues in there then you were good to go. Now you don't know how old they are unless someone marked the date on them. They could be pretty old now.The buzz is sort of weird, it is a bit loud with a definite 60 cycle hum to it and gets louder when you turn up the volume. My single coils on my tele are noisy anyway a little but when I put it on the center position it gets quieter of course but the sound is still there on the amp. Have also tried different guitars and cables. :w2:

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Cool! Thanks! That is what I thought, but I saw the longer threader ones and my luck I would have gotten the wrong one.
