I built the electronics side of things for this project a few years back. It never really caught the attention of my friends because it was missing a cabinet. Recently I had a buddy build me a cabinet for this project so I can now officially call this project "finished". The circuit is a Hiwatt Custom 50…built from scratch. No kit here. I drilled every hole, painted, etc etc.

The cabinet is made out of Purple Heart and Ash wood. Lighting is accomplished by LED strips.

Really nice. Looks like some massive iron on there too. What's the price $5000.00?

Thanks guys.

Plexi…Hiwatt's have an extremely nice clean tone, especially with a strat.  I have an actual factory custom 50 head that I will part with after I finish analyzing my own custom build to the factory built one.  I highly recommend checking them out if you ever have the chance.  The tone stack is very cool and useful IMO.

These aren't for sale, they will sit in my studio/collection.

I received three cabinets this week….here are a few more pics of those to share with you guys.

Thanks for checking them out.

This one is made out of Spalted Maple.  Have yet to decide what circuit to build into this cabinet.  I am thinking an orange/matamp or a Silvertone 1484.

There is a little remote with infrared that allows me to select 20 different colors and choose effects like fading, strobe etc.

Beautifully done!  Cabs are remarkable.  My son is a woodworker and is quite partial to using purple heart for his projects.

Thanks for sharing your work and the photos!

With respect, Tubenit

Beautiful, I think I can hear that ''<HiWatt>'' from my house. Yeah, ditto on the Trans's!. You're gonna set off the Earths gravitational pull with all that metal, and thumbs up on the Ir-lights.

I've been fooling with wireless selection/changing of parameter/value for a while. Good use for those old remotes from broken home hi-fi for me.

The lights look really eyecatching. Wife wonders if you can/did hook up to small mic, so they will flash in time to music. Are you using RGB led's, and if so, common cathode, ...anode?, whats the deal- and understand completely if you're keeping under wrap. Either way, hat's off, & I just got a big box of asst vcr remote ir send-receive parts, so it's time for me to catch up, and to you I say--- :worthy1:,.....and despite the Co. name,   Keep on conjuring up the fire!
keep on with those scales and that fish is gonna die, if it don't bite you first!

never fried a tranny ..till I built a dim bulb tester. UPDATE-haven't fried anything since learning how to properly build & use one...thanks Uncle Doug, & el34 World

What I have done is quite simple.  I bought an LED strip kit that includes 8ft of the LED strip, power supply, infrared module and a remote at a local big box retailer.  I then opened up the power supply and wired it to work off the iec jacks on the amp's.  I installed the power supplies for the LED's inside the amp chassis and mounted the infrared eye where it works with the remote.  It's just that simple. Total cost $30.  http://www.costco.ca/RGB-Colors-LED-Strips-Light-Kit--4-x-50cm-(4-x-19.67-in.)-–-with-Remote-Control.product.100082747.html

Setting the LED's to dance with the amp seems like a challenge but not for me (right now at least).  I did accomplish the dancing light effect on a project I did years ago called the Magic 18 Watt Stout…i installed a magic eye tube.  http://www.glacieramps.com/Glacier_Amplification/18_Watt_Magic_Stout.html
