Revibe build ?'s

I’m starting a revibe build and have a couple questions.

I’m using the schematic set I found by sluckey that has his viso and the tore T mod schematic. I see the note on the eye candy led, on the tore t version the cathode v5B(v5A sluckey) is cap bypassed with a 22uF and sluckey’s isn’t.  Is that a big deal? 

I have a bunch of chassis mounded led’s from rshack that have a 680ohm resister built in.  Is that enough to stall, mess-up the tremolo oscillator?

Is V5A sluckey/V5B tore T a gain stage for the tremolo oscillaror?

No big deal. If you want the flashy LED eye candy then use the LED. Otherwise, use the standard cathode resistor/cap from the Tore T schematic.

That won't work correctly. You need to use a stand alone LED. RS has a variety of LEDs (1.7 to 2.0 volt LEDs work best) and they also have a simple chrome bezel for easy chassis mounting.

Technically, yes, it's a gain stage for the LFO signal. But more importantly, it's a phase inverter. This particular vibrato circuit uses a dual phase LFO signal to modulate the guitar signal.

Thanks man, I have a pile of leds n housings, I just had that style mounted b4 I realized it had a resistor in it.  So is V4A/B set up class A/B?
 
As a non player, do you adjust the frequency of the LFO to some “pleasing” harmonic of the particular song being played?

V4 is the modulator. Look at page 9 of this pdf for an explanation of circuit operation...

Sweet, thanks!  In my world we do something similar, by taking an rf pulse, splitting it, phase shift one 90degrees, transmit it, receive it, then combine, strip off the original and walla, an MRI image of you!  Only the engineers just use copper foil!, me, I just fix it, well til last week when I got downsized to the bread line.  But the best way to fix something is to understand how n why it works in the first place!  Thanks again for the understanding

Got all the mechanical layout done, the fun part, had to get a shoehorn!  anyway couple more questions, looking at the output of v3 to the tank, will an open tank circuit damage v3?, like not hooking a speaker up to a standard amp.  Are "standard" units labeled REV out, REV in, (meaning out to the tank IN and in from the tank OUT)?

voltage checked the revibe, one wiring error, fixed.  the supply volts are a little hot, 20-30vdc higher than Sluckey's but close enough to lite up.  She does what she is supposed to do, WELL!  Thanks for a great schematic.  The only oddity was for the first 15 minutes the tremolo bled through, kinda motorboaty sound that didn't really change with speed/intensity but then she quieted down to silence when I wasn't strumming strings!  figure it was just the tubes waking up to a new world!

Fixed the noise, motorboat issue, bad input jack on my amp AND bad cable! she's a proto-type build from barn scrap n point2point wiring.  The chassis is a 90's? SS fender bassman that was free n toast.  used the spkr cab for me 5E champ.  I love playing(relative term:) thru it, I almost sound musical, 1 outta ten strummmmmzz.
