Champ 600 Transformer Ratings?
« on: April 07, 2014, 12:04:01 pm »
Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has stock Champ 600 PT and OT current ratings. Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum to ask. I know the PT is supposed to put out 280 VAC without a center-tap but I have no idea what kind of current it can handle. I also assume the OT is something like 5-8K into a 4ohm load.

Any info you can share would be great.

Cheers,

Neill

The schematic shows 47mA for the 6V6 and less than 3mA for the 12AX7 triodes. So 50mA total on the B+. I'd uprate that a bit.

Filament is .3A + .45A = 0.75A
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
