We had a thread once where everybody threw in their 2 cents
on what kind of equipment they are using and musical influences that slipped off the forum before we realized it. I
think it would be a good idea to do a new one that could
be added as an achieve and would be a permanent record
or all the regulars and anybody else. Can you handle
going down that road again?? Plate

Ken
Age 39, Rochester NY
Married, 2 daughters
Electrical Engineer
GEAR:
75 Fender Strat maple neck ( for my 12th birthday)
'62 ( rosewood) vintage reissue Strat (1990-much nicer than the 3 bolt '75.)
Black Face Super Reverb
Black Face Deluxe Reverb
Vox Cambridge Reverb ( 2-EL84 10" Oxford "Gold Dog" ) 15 watts of tube fun.
1960 Hammond B3 organ and 122 Leslie
Hohner D6 Clavinette
Fender Rhodes ( 76 Key)
A few effects like MXR Phase 90, Roland 201 Space Echo, Mutron Octave Divider.
INFLUENCES:
Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Puple and Rainbow:
From when I was 9 until about 17, this guy was my primary influence.
Taught me scales, chords, and how to play by ear.
Steve Hackett ( His Genesis and early solo works )
Taught me to think of the guitar as a paintbrush and to pay attention to
the whole signal path--from the brain to the PA speakers. Introduced to me
to asymetric meters, fancy chords and restraint.
Jerry Garcia:
My biggest influence--from him I learned phrasing and improvisation skills--much
of which I should have picked up from Blackmore and Hackett. Garcia also
taught me to listen to the whole band. And he got me into brighter, happier tunes.
OTHERS:
Bach, Brahms, Chopin, The Band, CCR, Black Sabbath,
Charlie Parker, Pat Methany, Pink Floyd, BB King, Groove Holmes
Dixie Dregs, Zeppelin, Robert Fripp, Hendrix, Cream, Bob Marley,
Alice Cooper, Grand Funk, Rolling Stones, John Denver,
Willie Nelson, Sarah McLachlan, etc.
