I am wondering if this idea would work??  I'm thinking the reverb part would work just fine.  Not so sure about the tremolo?   I tried to copy the VibroChamp tremolo idea and attach it to the cathode on the return gain stage of the reverb.

I've built a couple of D'Lator (Dumblelator) type plug in active effects loops where they plug into a passive effects loop.  They worked well, IMO.

Now I've got on board active effects loops on my amps.  So, I was thinking of a ReVibe type unit that was perhaps less complex and could plug right into the active effects loop and add reverb and/or tremolo.


Think this would work?   And would you recommend any modifications to it?

IF it worked, I think this could be a cool idea because in contrast to the ReVibe at the input jack,  it would allow reverb and tremolo further down in the signal chain and after the overdrive is added.   I'd rather have overdrive reverbed then reverb overdriven.

What about something like the Ric-Tone  model here?  Maybe simpler to implement and more or less the same thing?

Hey, thank you for sharing that!  That would definitely work for the tremolo part of it. 

While it doesn't have reverb specificially, perhaps the idea could be fashioned into the reverb recovery gain stage.

I'll study it some more over the wkend.

A stand along reverb/vibrato for use in the FX loop would be great. Connecting it to the reverb recovery would be the way to go. The moody has something similar but different.

Yeah, the challenge is what to connect the tremolo to?  In such a way, that it is a totally contained unit that is plugged into an effects loop.

And to have both reverb and tremolo.   So, on your Moody ............ the tremolo is oscillating the cathode of a gain stage (which would be outside the contained unit).

I'm thinking the tremolo will need to oscillate the cathode of the reverb return gain stage to keep it a contained unit.

And so here is yet another idea! 

I have a hardwired digitech reverb pedal that sounds fabulous to me in the active effects loop.  So use that for the reverb (& put a delay pedal behind that).  I like this reverb pedal as well as tube spring reverb.

Now use a  jack that attaches to the cathode of the return of the active effects loop.  On the VibroChamp, the vibrato attaches to a cathode and I like the tone of the VibroChamp vibrato.

So this would be a small unit with speed and intensity.  It would have a jack on the unit and a jack on the amp that goes to the cathode of the effects loop return. It would have both the tube and transformer inside the unit.  So the only mod to the original amp chassis would be a small RCA jack with another RCA jack on the unit itself.  A shielded wire cord would attach the unit to the chassis.

This approach would eliminate the tube reverb and the need for a reverb pan in the bottom of the amp cabinet.

Yeah!   The schematic kinda looks like the makeup stage of the reverb and the trem section affects it.  The trick I guess is to see if you can get it to work with the values of the reverb's makeup stage as you would want it.  The other caveat being... does the trem sound decent?
