That purple amp in the photo is what I built for Dickie.
The amp was returned to me after Dickie was kicked out of the band.
Bert, the Allman tour manager called me and said he had a Hoffman amp on the truck and do I want it back?
I said yes and Bert sent it to me.
This had to be 10+ years ago
I can't remember the date, but it has been sitting in my shop for a long time.
I decided it would be cool to donate the amp to the Allman Bros museum in Macon, Ga
https://thebighousemuseum.com/I contacted Richard at the museum and said I would donate it and he said, yes, I want the amp.
So on 07/25/2025 Bailey from the museum is coming to the shop to pick it up.
I will take some pics when Bailey is here.
Some cool notes about the amp:I was at a Allman Bros rehearsal in Sarasota, Fl
During one of the breaks, Greg came over top me and said he thought the purple amp was cool
He said he had a purple Marshall a long time ago.
I have seen the amp on stage used as a guest amp in video
I saw Derek Trucks playing through it.
There are some hand written stickers inside the amp
One of them said it was modified for Jack Pearson when he was in the band
I converted it to 6550's to get a cleaner sound for Jack
I originally had EL34's in the amp
At the time, I did not make 100 watt heads so I use a 50 watt board and 50 watt face plate.
I had a 100 watt transformer set made from my transformer guy
In order to get two more power tubes, I added the screen grid resistors to the tube sockets
I also added two more 1 ohm bias resistors
