Power Transformer for ReVibe build
« on: September 02, 2014, 02:08:10 pm »
I have the following power transformer sitting around waiting unused. I am wondering if you guys think it will be OK in a ReVibe...

230V @ 105mA (no center-tap) so I can expect around 325v after full-wave s.s. rect.
6v @ 4A
30V @ 20mA

I know the heater current and B+ current is OK, but what about the 230V output? I know the Mojo 779 is rated at 250V but no idea on the current.

Thanks,
DP

I think it's fine.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Which Revibe circuit were you planning to do?

Get your self a list of power tubes and look for a pair that will be happy at 300 volts.    Not wrong with building a low wattage pp amp.

I would also plan on using a choke in a pi configuration cap-choke-cap, to save your self some valuable B rail voltage.

Good luck

You might be thinking of something else? The ReVibe is the standalone reverb/tremolo unit which has a single-ended reverb driver using a 6V6 or 6K6.

This is the latest version posted over on the project page... http://el34world.com/Hoffman/files/Hoffman_ReVibe.pdf

I think it's fine.

Awesome thanks.
