« on: November 30, 2014, 04:08:59 am »
Is this Grounding Layout correct (according with Doug's indications http://el34world.com/charts/images/ChassisGrounds_small.png) ?

Layout

Schematic

Many Thanks

Whell this tread was continued here http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=17904.0

I hope this won't generate problems, the other tread was relative to the general disposition of the components respect each other

here I ask if the grounding scheme is conform to what Doug's indicate as a good grounding

as to avoid confusion I add also here the new Layout

Franco,

It looks to me like you have a ground loop
You have two paths to ground from your pre amp bus

I would run it like this
A wire from your pre bus to the input jack ground

Ciao Doug

On my draw I was thinking to use an isolated jack intake

Do you mean it will be better I use a not isolated jack intake at the input ?

Is my trouble on the buss soldered to pot chassis that are connected to ground ?

So, if I understand well, 6ak5 and 6j6 (preamp and PI) go to ground at the input jack, the other part of the amp to the bolt near PT, correct ?

Grazie per la risposta

Franco

Hi Franco,
I don't know
I have never used an isolated jack and pot assembly

You could easily move ground wires around once the amp was built to find the quietest grounding points
