Modify a 6g15

Looking at the 2nd half of the 7025 which is a cathode follower could you rewire it like a standard preamp to get more gain and drive the amp your plugging into a little harder. Maybe even have a switch on the cathode bypass cap. I don't use a lot of reverb and have the mix control turned so I have just a touch of reverb. Would that effect the phase of the reverb output signal to the clean signal at the mixer pot? Just thinking if that would work I could also use my reverb unit as little lead boost also.

Take a look at some of Tubenit's builds.  He uses an IRF820 as a CF in place of a tube triode, in a number of them.  You could add one downstream of the second half of the 7025, as a CF.  And, use the triode as the gain stage in front of it.  You would probably need to figure out how to attach a heat sink to it, as it will get some hot.

The CF in the 6G15 circuit acts as a low impedance buffer for the output signal and keeping the dry side at unity gain so that the wet side has a chance of being heard in the mix. converting the CF to an inverting stage will destroy this match made in heaven. You need a booster pedal in front of the reverb unit

I appreciate the feedback I was hoping this wouldn't be the case. I am not a big reverb user just a touch. The 6g15 has way more wet signal than I would ever use.
