Ampeg 610 6 ohm speakers

I blew a speaker or two in my Ampeg 610 cab.  It's sort of an odd set up, 6 ohm speakers, three series sets of two wired in parallel.  I'm having a hard time finding the 6 ohm speakers.  Out of curiosity, I was thinking about upgrading all the speakers (BIG expense, so probably not).  If I used 4 ohm speakers wired the same way I'd end up with a 5.3 total impedance, which probably isn't too much of a problem.  But, I was wondering if I did sets of a 4 and an 8 in series to get the 12 ohm blocks for parallel I'd end up with a 4 ohm total.  That seems like it's flying in the face of convention though, since I've never seen that before I'm guessing it's no good to have mismatched drivers.  Any insights?

No, that would be 2.67Ω.

I'd use all 8Ω speakers which will give you 5.3Ω.
