Mounting reverb pan in tubes up head cabinet.

I'm making a head cabinet for the Single Channel Deluxe Reverb amp I made and the chassis mounts on the floor of the box. I've been contemplating where to place the reverb pan. My thought is either up on the front panel or underneath the top upside down. Anyone every mount one on its side or upside down?

Another option is to put the tank on the front panel like the Bandmaster Reverb head or Dual Showman Reverb.

Well, I chuckled when I saw the picture. In researching (googling all over the place) where to place a tank in that amp I'm working on, I read so many times "as far from the transformers as possible!"


So, I guess it's really not that critical, eh?

Just keep the low level, sensitive tank output end away from the PT.

I don't remember well, but seems to me that for that kind of montage there is a specified Tank, a tank adapt to be mounted on the bottom if I remember well, is different

If you already have a Tank that is to be mounted on the bottom, you can adopt the same trick used by Vox, look here



There is a wood panel under the chassis and the Tank is installed under it


However this isn't the best install position for the reverb, you can find it on the Accutronisc site


and it is this (on the back of the front panel on your amp ?)

Kagliostro -  that's a pretty interesting amp head. What Vox is it? I've never seen anything like it. Is it a 1965 Vox AC30 Super Twin Reverb Trapazoid Head Top Boost. Just a guess...  ;-)

Hey just for 'complete-ness' (meaning A.D.D types) I've mounted regular super r-twin type pans upside down from top, & even on sides vertically, but Accutronics does suggest & make a pan specifically for  Each position,. So maybe optimum results won't be realized, or longevity... But what the hey! It's up to you, I might just follow Ed's advice and put a bag on it...they really help!
