FX Hoffman style turret board
« on: July 16, 2015, 06:39:33 am »
Some of us like having an active FX on board.  This is sort of a D'Lator style FX that you can use to insert prior to the LTPI entrance.

Using SCH, you can "save" this layout and insert it into a Hoffman style layout board SCH drawing.

AND you can buy a Hoffman style board such as the Tweed Overdrive Special ............. AND buy a blank piece of turret board material that is longer.  Then use the TOS board to trace turret position on to the new board and insert the FX layout prior to the LTPI.  Hope that makes sense.

So, this is how you'd add the FX to the Hoffman style board using the Tweed Overdrive Special as an example.

IF I were doing this,  I'd add the FX send pot and FX level pot between the OD Level pot and the PPIMV.

You could buy an original TOS Hoffman style layout board  AND blank turret board material.  The original board is 11.5" long using 29 turret rows.  This addition would make 38 turret rows, ........... so you'd buy board material that is maybe 15.5" long to ensure enough length.

You would then use the original TOS board to mark on the 15.5 turret board material turret rows 1-17.  Create a space for 9 rows of turrets for the FX board.  Then mark rows 18-29 on the turret board material.  Now you have an original TOS Hoffman style board with FX added to it.

You could do this method with almost any of the Hoffman style boards that have LTPI.

And just a thought, if the chassis space is tight, but deep enough you could put that on a separate board and double deck it.
Tapping into the inner tube.
