Vox AC30 clone Amp build
« on: July 27, 2015, 10:58:31 am »
This is my Vox AC30 clone build.

Thought I'd share some pictures and ask for comments.  Here's my first pic of the board, after soldering the main components.  So far it looks okay, I'm horrid at soldering so some of it is a mess, but it all looks good so far, I'll keep posts going as I progress and may ask people for help if things go awry.  First the completed board, and then the next link is something odd I noted. The schematics on the site show the red circled posts down where the blue area is.  For all that I've looked at, I can't see that it will impact anything, as those two turrets don't link into anything on the board, other than volume and treble pots, so I think that it isn't a big deal.  If y'all can comment and let me know if that looks like it could be an issue, or if you have any comments on what I may need to fix now, I'd appreciate it.

I couldn't post the second image even though it was in size, so I'm adding a reply with it.

Short spans for those two resistors is what you would expect in the overall Hoffman board scheme of things.  The original .gif layout drawing shows those two spans as medium length, then the newer one shows them as short.  Possibly when the .pdf layout was being prepared, the draftsman inadvertently followed the older .gif rather than the newer one.

I changed a few things when I started drawing the Visio layouts

The CNC machine still had the old file and was cutting those two lugs according to one of the old layouts

It's not going to matter where those two lugs are
You are good to go

excellent, thanks.  From what I understood of the circuit it didn't seem to matter to me either, just wanted another set of eyes on it.
