Sovtek Mig-50
« on: July 27, 2015, 11:43:27 pm »
The Sovtek Mig-50 schematic by Bruce Collins found in the schematic library here (and just about every place else you go looking for Sovtek schematics) contains some glaring errors.  The elevated heaters would be referenced to over 500V and he is showing a 25V electrolytic cap (the 25V electrolytic is actually correct, but it would be really exciting to put 500V on it).  The PT is drawn all wrong with the bias and the other heaters sharing the same winding.  The capacitor in the bias circuit is ridiculously large.  A capacitor that size in those days would probably be something like 4cm in diameter and 9cm long.  I think that schematic should be corrected if possible or just deleted.

I always knew that schematic was way off, but I never traced an actual Mig-50 circuit until now.  There are at least two different PCB's for Mig-50's and the version attached is for PCB 007.
