Fender Switching Problem
« on: July 31, 2015, 12:24:34 pm »
I have a Hot Rod De Ville 212 which switches on its own for a few seconds from the clean channel to the dirty channel.  I checked the 16 V power supply and was +/- 16.8 volts.  The 330 ohm resistors get hot but not extremely so.  Any suggestions on what else to check?

Does the LED color change also?

The problem could be almost anything between the foot switch and the relays. Lot of circuitry for a poor solder connection to hide. Maybe even a bad IC, transistor, diode, cap, etc.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
