Just wanted to share this... Great example of how different vintage guitars & their pickups sound different. I presume it's the same/similar amp & setup among each.

Enjoyed that.
The way it was presented really allowed each guitar's specific character to be clearly discerned.
I share his affection for the neck pickup, so for me, it was a bonus that he spent most of the time there.

I felt he did a great job of selecting the right pickup from each guitar to match what was needed for the song at that point. For example, the switch from bridge to neck pickups while playing the Firebird.

I've now got a capability to slow down videos and isolate a section of a song, to help steal licks.  I think I'm gonna be stealing a lot off that video...

My favorite tone was the Firebird with the mini-humbuckers!

I liked the SG and I have never been a real fan of them.  Dude has a great swinging vibrato.  The Strat seemed a little on the dark side and had an unusual tone.

But for me, I can't stand the tone on any of the guitars (agree Strat was probable the worst) because of the amount and tone/type of distortion he's getting from either or both the amp and/or pedals. Way too fuzzy/buzzy, you can hear it 'spiting' and the rasp when he slides up/down and it swamps out the guitars tone and the little nuances he could be getting.

If you want to show off the differences in tone of 6 different guitars and their PUP's why drowned them in muffled fuzzy buzz? How much makeup does a beautiful women need? 

To me it's really a shame because the way he can play he doesn't need it.

That was very good, liked that demonstration but----I was very disappointed in the strat. I think he was playing on the neck pickup. I think for what he was playing the bridge or at least bridge/middle would have been more appropriate. Didn't think the strat got a fair shake---all the other guitars out shined the strat by miles. Really dug that little diddy, super cool licks and talk about aggressive playing style?! Wowza! After reading the comments before playing the vid & Brad's comments I was expecting a lot worse. Those big positional changes with perfect landings & simultaneous bendings was like a high wire act.
