Egnater Tweaker
« on: June 22, 2016, 12:32:52 pm »
Curious, has anyone tinkered with the circuit in these amps, I have found some older posts on these,
and was wondering if any additional things have been tried.

Results?

Thanks

I have one, a combo.  I have changed a few things.  First, most of of the later versions have a large cathode resistor and run the tubes way cool.  I changed this for 90% dissipation.  I installed a foot switch jack beside the loop input that now controls the hot switch.

On the Tone Stack I changed one of the caps that connect to the Bass to allow for more Bass to pass.

Other than that I have not done much.  I bought it real cheap and planned to simply sell it, but I have been playing it for a couple of years now.

Thanks Ed.

Yeah I have a Randall Diavlo 45 another tech could not figure out.  Between a lefthand break input Cliff jack, that should have been a right hand break...and a dead opto on the input, got it running.  I like it so much will likely keep it...lol

What values on C7 and C10 did you try?  Or, did you just "up" C16 ?

I could not get a Schematic, so I cannot tell you by number.  If you have the schematic, please post it.

I simply upped the Cap to allow more Bass since the amp came with a nice 12" greenback.
