Why we call it ...................... HamFest ?

Yesterday was the third day I spent, with my Radio Amateurs friends, on Friedrichshafen (D)

there there is the bigger european HamFest and we were wondering about the use of the name ......??

if translated literally Ham stay for gammon

so why we say HamFest ???

I've a lot of stuff that comes from Ham Fest, here in Italy and some from Germany

Few days ago I got a nice 220V / 110V AC transformer unit really on the cheap (12.00 €)

so now I can use american apparatus on 230V line (I've a TV-7/U tester that has 110v input)

Ham Fest is the principal source for my purchases

Yes, to go around for the Ham Fest is a cost in terms of time and money, but to me is occasion to meet old friends and have some "hollyday"

and I look to this trips this way
