Hoffman grounding scheme question.
« on: July 10, 2016, 08:28:28 am »
Looking at the Hoffman grounding drawing...Where does the buss that goes down the back of the pots and  the pre amp grounds, the input jacks and the pre amp e-caps connect to attach to a  ground lug.

There's not a separate wire that connects to chassis. The input jacks provide a good chassis ground for that buss. In fact, if you solder that buss to the back of the pots like Hoffman does, then each pot body also provides a chassis ground connection.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thanks Sluckey. That is what I thought but just need a little hand holding. I ground mostly the same way except that I run a bus wire (not attached to the back of the pots) and ground it on a lug right at the input jacks. Other thing that I do is ground the mains on a lug by its self...By the way, Hope you know that us amateurs really appreciate having folks like you to bail us out when we really mess things up.

That's exactly what I do also.
