what is the R designation on resistors for

ok all.  i have been looking at the schematics and have seen many resistors designated with R as in 360R and 60R.  as the resistor used bias resistor for the cathodes on say the Tweed blues master.  Can someone help me understand what this designates with respect to the resistor.  "wire wound"???

In those examples R simply means Ω or ohms. But if you see something like 1R2K or 5R6K then the R is being used as a decimal point and those examples would be 1.2K (1200Ω) and 5.6K (5600Ω).

thanks slukey i was hoping it was something like that.  but i wasn't sure since there would be for example both an 820R and a 360 listed in the same document.  since the R wasn't in both i just didn't want to assume that it wasn't something like say designating another resistor material.  guesing its a hold out from the old days. prior to clear fonts and printing.
