Physically smaller pots?

I've been converting my 30 watt design to two channel for some time now. One thing that I think would benefit my layout is if I could replace the gain and master pot (1m) to a smaller pot. Does anyone know where I can get smaller sized pots?

usually guys try to use 24mm pots instead of smaller ones

Have you space problems ?

Thanks K. Yes 16 mm looks perfect. Only values I would need are 1m and maybe 500k. Looks like those are easily accessible. I am having a slight space issue on my two channel.

K - those split shaft alpha 16mm in your second link are probably for guitars. These are the ones he wants. 1/4 shaft and 500V rating.

Often the knob and fingers limit how close we can space pots.

I do remember a discrete sequencer with 4*10 knobs in about 2"*4", but it was very hard to twiddle.

I already have the pots installed and spaced well. But internally i have them sideways because the gain and master are laid out vertically rather than side by side. I would have a little bit of cleaner wiring if I didn't have to have the pots sideways.

Nothing wrong with mounting the pots sideways... Once the wiring is done and the amp is buttoned up, no one sees them.

Though not necessarily a huge issue, a smaller pot would just make everything a little easier. I have channel one on left and channel 2 on right. I also have LED indicators that illuminate on each channel separately. Heres my faceplate layout:


BASS- MID- TREBLE- (GAIN/MV stacked vertically) - <--LED-- Switch--- LED --> (GAIN/MV stacked vertically)- TREBLE- MID- Bass


The second channel is laid out as a mirrored image of the first. The LED's are a bit close to the (GAIN/MV stacked vertically) pots. If I had smaller pots, I could make this work a little cleaner.


Is there any difference in the function of these 16mm pots?
